The Ayder heights, 150 kilometres from Trabzon Airport and a 2-hour journey away, are one of Turkey’s most stunning tourist destinations. On both sides of the road to Ayder Turkey, there are numerous natural waterfalls, woodlands, and restaurants. Ayder Heights enjoys a spectacular setting surrounded on all sides by mountains, forests, and waterfalls. It also boasts breathtaking views of plains and valleys.

The 14th Ayder Snow Festival took place on the Ayder Plateau in Rize’s amlhemşin district. Those who enjoyed sliding with bags in the snow also played horon while wearing overalls and kemençe. On the second day of the 14th Ayder Snow Festival in Ayder Plateau, which was organised by the government, municipality, and Ayder Tourism Association, there were also vivid photographs.

Approximately 5,000 individuals attended the festival, where they were able to enjoy bag skiing. Everyone from 7 to 70 years old who had their bags in hand attempted to ski on the natural tracks that had been made. In the snow-covered festival area, those who were cold tried to warm up by playing horon. Mustafa Yilmaz, a highlander who set up a stove in an open place, stated:

“We are warming Ayder Turkey now. We’re trying to warm up by playing Horon, it’s not enough. We come, we warm up at the stove.”

Adil Kosif, who was caught in the highlands carrying a bag, stated:

“I fall every time, but I keep sliding. Now I’m so wet and cold I’m going to take a break, then I’m going to keep enjoying skiing with the bag.” Omer Berke Agile, who cried because his mother did not let him play with the snow much, said, “My mother does not allow me to play with the snow because I will be sick. But I want to play with the snow. I want to ski, please let my mother.”
