Limni Lake Natural Park, located at the foot of Zigana Mountain in Gümüşhane’s Torul district, dazzles visitors with its white appearance after a snowstorm. Everything became white after the snowfall in Limni Lake, which is located at an altitude of 2024 metres above sea level on the slope of Zigana Mountain, an important and arduous passage in all times of history.

As the temperature plummeted below zero, pine trees were blanketed in cotton-like snow masses with a thickness of up to 20 cm in places, and part of the lake surface was coated in ice.

Those who wanted to visit the Limni Lake Natural Park, which can be reached in about 45 minutes from both Gümüşhane and Trabzon and is known as “Zigana’s evil bead” and “Peaceful spot” among the sounds of birds due to its fresh air, peculiar terrain, and forest bird sounds, rushed to the region.

This year, over 160,000 people visited the area, which will continue to function until the impending winter season closes roads due to snow. The view of Limni Lake, the observation terraces, and the view from Zigana Mountain on the way back and forth are of incomparable beauty, according to Mustafa Eroglu, one of the facility’s proprietors. According to Eroglu, the facility would remain open to guests until the roads are closed by snow. There is roughly 20 centimetres of snow on the ground right now.
