Sultanahmet Square, also known as Hippodrome Square, is surrounded by prominent landmarks and overlooks the Blue Mosque. In addition, there are other museums, including the Museum of Turkish Islamic Art. Due to its exquisite beauty and vastness, the Sultanahmet district is one of Istanbul’s most recognized tourist attractions, and it is also a popular place to begin tourist journeys. This square, like the ancient peninsula that links to all of the historical structures around it, is a highly impressive tourist location in Sultanahmet district.

The Egyptian Stone Column

One of history’s secrets is the obelisk or stone pillar that was brought from Egypt in 390, and archaeologists have yet to discover and read the riddle of the tablets etched on these pillars. These obelisks can be seen all over the world. From Argentina to Italy, and even Sultanahmet Square, there’s something for everyone! The Egyptian king built this stone pillar in 1450 BC. If you visit this column, you will be standing in front of one of Istanbul’s oldest structures.

Istanbul Archaeological Museum

The Istanbul Archaeological Museum houses a significant collection of prehistoric antiquities from Greece, Rome, and Byzantium, which are presented in a stunning manner. The whole Topkapi Palace collection has been moved to the Museum. After touring the museum, take a stroll around Gulhane Park, which was formerly an Ottoman king’s garden. The garden is spread out over large green grounds with flowers, tulips, and tall trees.

Blue Mosque

In Istanbul’s Sultanahmet Square, the Blue Mosque is one of the most important mosques and tourist attractions. Sultan Ahmed I built this mosque in the seventeenth century, between 1603 and 1617. The stunning and eye-catching Iznik tiles utilized in the mosque’s interior decor inspired the name. This mosque is a beautiful example of Islamic architecture and one of Istanbul’s most popular tourist attractions. When visiting this mosque, remember to dress appropriately so that you do not have to utilize the mosque’s general covering.

7 Days Blue Cruise Turkey Tour

Serpent Column

This column was brought to Istanbul from Delphi, Greece, and is one of Istanbul’s most distinctive structures. As a symbol of Greece’s victory over the Persians, this spiral column was built from melted enemy military equipment. This pillar was given to the Delphi Apollo Monument as a gift after the victory in this war to convey their gratitude for this location. Three interwoven snakes with their heads cut off can be found on this blue pillar.

Hagia Sophia

The Hagia Sophia, regarded as one of the outstanding architectural examples in the world, will definitely astonish you both inside and out. It is the eighth wonder of the world, according to the Turks, albeit this claim is a little overdone. In truth, this structure had a nickname during the Roman Empire since it was the world’s largest church at the time. When the Ottomans took over, it was converted into a mosque, and when the Republic of Turkey was established, Ataturk ordered the Hagia Sophia to be turned into a museum for many years.

Nearly ten million tourists from all over the world visited Istanbul in the year 2021, with Arab tourists making for a significant share of the total, around three million. Surprisingly, most tourists visit Istanbul’s most iconic landmarks before they become well-known. Some, on the other hand, want to go to locations in Istanbul that tourists are unaware of; they want to discover Istanbul’s secrets, learn about what’s new, and enjoy seclusion and serenity.

Nekkastepe Park

The large Nekkastepe Park, a 50,000-square-meter park in Uskudar, is another tranquil location for individuals looking for quiet areas in Istanbul. An aviation runway, a tennis court, a shooting range, fitness areas, an adventure route, a biological water pond, a wooden bridge, and a waterfall can all be found in the park. The park has been outfitted with all of the necessary amenities. Camping fans can enjoy both the sea and the forests at the same time.

Goksu River

The Goksu River is recognized for its clean waters and tranquility, making it ideal for a stroll or a boat ride. Don’t forget to stop into My Moon cafe while you’re there. Fatih Park, Sile Lighthouse, and Sile Lake are among the attractions that overlook it. From the Beykoz area, the river flows through Istanbul, providing opportunities for fishing. Safaraq Tourism encourages you to contact us and book through its representatives to appreciate the beauty of the river and explore its environs.

Kucuksu Palace

Kucuksu Palace, which dates from 1856 and located on a 400-meter stretch of the Bosphorus Strait, was built as a rest stop for horse riders and fishermen. The carved ceilings with magnificent embellishments and manuscripts, as well as the exceptional marble colors, distinguish this mansion. The style of the staircase, the modest water basin, the imported furnishings from Europe, and the rare oil paintings all stand out. Visitors enjoy taking a tour of the lake and adjacent fountain outside the palace.

Bosphorus Boat Cruise Tour – Dolmabahce Palace

Mimar Sinan Urban Forest

Mimar Sinan Forest, one of Istanbul’s most beautiful forests, is located near Zubeyde Hanim, Sultan Gazi, on an area of more than 3 million and 400,000 square meters. The forest, which first welcomed tourists in 2012, is a great location for family picnics and walks, as well as experiencing the most beautiful seasons. The forest has a lovely lake dam, which is guarded by a tall wooden tower from which you can get the best views of the clear water and lush flora.

Catalca Village

Catalca is Istanbul’s largest area in terms of area, at 1,291 km2, and is roughly 56 km from Istanbul city center, with a lovely long shoreline running across the Black Sea. The region is known for its agricultural goods and forests, with industry coming in second, with the textile and pharmaceutical industries being the most well-known. The city is tranquil as a result of its small population, giving the place a sense of comfort and serenity. Tourists looking for Istanbul’s hidden gems travel to the Catalca district to witness the lovely villages of Flamengo, Yalikoy, and Ormanli.

Summer in Istanbul is also the most peaceful period of the year. Istanbul residents frequently spend their vacations in their hometowns or in one of Turkey’s many resorts. The city is depopulated, traffic decreases, and it becomes much easier to travel around, enjoy the coastlines of the Bosphorus, the Black Sea, or the Marmara, and get some fresh air away from the city’s heat. In Istanbul, the summer months are the peak tourist season. Museums and monuments are open for longer in the summer than in the winter.

Go for Sailing

Do you want to get away, relax on the Sea of Marmara, and visit the Princes’ Islands? Then this is the activity for you. During the day, you will be able to swim in the archipelago’s little coves, eat at attractive local eateries, and discover a location apart from the city’s chaos. We may also arrange for you to help the captain in his maneuvers for a half-day. A day sailing is one of the best activates you can do to enjoy summer in Istanbul.

2022 New Party Bosphorus dinner cruise tour

Eat Mezzes and Drink Raki

The fishing season begins in September, and eating fish during the summer is not recommended. Nothing beats a wonderful supper with lots of cold mezzes and raki to unwind after a long day. The national drink, Raki, is an anise-flavored liqueur comparable to Pastis or Ouzo. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the creator of the Turkish Republic, was a big fan of the narrative. It even happened to him and his counselors when they were contemplating whether or not to drink raki. Raki is frequently served in fish restaurants.

12 Days Turkey and Jordan Tour-Istanbul Cappadocia Jordan

Go to the Beaches

The Black Sea and the Marmara Sea surround Istanbul. Many sandy beaches can be found, particularly along the Black Sea. There are various swimming pools across the city. Admission is more expensive than at the beaches, although they have the advantage of being located primarily in Istanbul’s downtown area.

Partying Outdoors

Many festivals are organized around the city, in addition to the big clubs along the Bosphorus. Here is a list of upcoming festivals: concerts and festivals. During the summer, our favorite place to party is Suma Beach, where there are festivals and parties with famous DJs every weekend. Partying outdoors is one of the best activates you can do to enjoy summer in Istanbul.

The heat of summer in Istanbul is constant from mid-June until mid-October. The hottest months in Istanbul during the summer are July and August, when temperatures can exceed 35 degrees Celsius. Summer is also the most peaceful period of the year in Istanbul.

The Princes’ Islands

The Princes’ Islands, one of the best activities to do this summer in Istanbul, archipelago is a great way to get away from Istanbul’s heat. We recommend visiting during the summer weekdays rather than weekends, when the islands are overrun with Istanbul residents and tourists. Small beaches (sadly without sand) may be found on the islands, allowing you to relax and swim in the Sea of Marmara.

Princess Island Tour

Sailing in Summer

Do you want to get away, relax on the Sea of Marmara, and visit the Princes’ Islands? Then this is the activity for you. Throughout the day, you’ll be able to swim in the archipelago’s little bays, dine at charming local restaurants, and discover a place apart from the city’s commotion. We may also arrange for you to help the captain in his manoeuvres for a half-day.

Eat Mezzes and Drink Raki

The fishing season begins in September, and eating fish during the summer is not recommended. Nothing beats a wonderful supper with lots of cold mezzes and rak to unwind after a long day. The national drink, Rak, is an anise-flavored liqueur comparable to Pastis or Ouzo. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the creator of the Turkish Republic, was a big fan of the narrative. It even happened to him and his counsellors when they were contemplating whether or not to drink rak. Rrk is a popular beverage in fish restaurants. Engaging in these eating doings is one of the best activities in summer in Istanbul.

Outdoor Party

Aside from the Bosphorus’s renowned clubs, the city hosts a number of festivals. Here is a list of upcoming festivals: concerts and festivals.

War, who saw the red rookie at the Solid Waste Disposal Facilities in ile, said they came to this area to see the birds from time to time. War, an engineer by trade, revealed that he has been photographing and observing birds for over 15 years, and that they came to ile after organising on social media with other birdwatchers and shooters.

“That day, I saw black rookies here on the north side and took pictures. I didn’t pay attention to the red rookie when I took pictures. When I got home in the evening, I was going through the photos, and I noticed the red rookie, and I was so excited. Red rookie is a rare species in Turkey even during migration. But we noticed he’d been here a week. It in Turkey has never been seen as such a resident before.”

He said he’ll keep an eye on the red rookie’s movements in the next days to see where he goes and how long he stays.

“It has been filmed no more than 10 times in Turkey. Other birdies also showed great interest. We have friends who take hundreds of bird photos, but they don’t have red rookie photos. If you go to Spain, Germany, France, you’ll find a red rookie there. However, it is very rare in Turkey. It’s not the kind you can see and photograph at any time. Because it doesn’t have a place. There are some species, for example, you live in Sanliurfa, you go there and shoot. But the red rookie isn’t like that. It’s gratifying that we found him here and saw him living here.”

6 Days Turkey Tour – Best Turkey Tour Package

On a global scale, the red rookie, which was first observed in Tekirda, Ankara, and lastly Bursa Karacabey 2-3 years ago, is considered a rare and endangered bird species. Red rookies are not commonly found in Turkey, according to Ergün Leg, a lecturer at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa Vocational School of Forestry.

“Its status is one of the species that we call rare when we look at the book of birds of Turkey, which we call rare every few years. It has several records in Istanbul in recent years, but it is a bird species that has been recorded no more than 10 times in total. Red rookie is one of the rare species that is not regularly found in Turkey or is not in a regular transition.”

The habitats of the birds have been devastated, according to Ergun Leg:

“The black rookie was a breeding species in Istanbul in the 1970s and would kidnap chicks and chicks from the coops of those who kept chickens in Istanbul, but now it can only be seen in migration times or unfortunately in landfills. Red rookie is a rare species for our country, but species such as black rookies unfortunately can have the status of being a rare species for Istanbul. We say it is important for the red rookie, but like the black rookie, the native species of Istanbul, breeding, summer and winter, will not be seen in Istanbul because unfortunately man destroys all habitats and creates his own habitat. Thus, the habitat of the birds is destroyed.”
