A portrait head was discovered in Düzce while archaeologists were excavating the old Konuralp city. Following an analysis by specialists in history and the Department of Excavations and Research, it was concluded that the portrait head belonged to Macedonia’s King Alexander the Great.

The museum received the portrait head of Alexander that was discovered during the excavation. For the past four years, professional archaeologists have been excavating the Konuralp Ancient City in Düzce. While most of the old theater was discovered throughout the course of the excavations, other historical artifacts, like the heads of Medusa and Apollo, were discovered during the excavations conducted in the top section.

4 Day 3 Night Blue Cruise Turkey Tours Fethiye to Olympos

During the excavations at the Konuralp Ancient Theater excavation area, researchers discovered a portrait head under the soil in the top section of the ancient theater area. This led to a thorough rescue excavation.

The portrait head was identified as belonging to King Alexander the Great of Macedonia after it was examined by historians and the Department of Excavations and Research after it was removed from the excavation site. It was established that the 23-centimeter-long relic dates to the second century AD, during the Roman era. The artifact from history was delivered to Konuralp Museum.

Ankara, which is 240 kilometres distant to the east, and Istanbul, which is 228 kilometres (142 miles) away to the west, are both close to Duzce. Düzce is traversed by D-100 while the TEM Highway around the city.

Duzce is situated on a plateau along the west coast of the Black Sea. The provinces of Zonguldak, Sakarya, and Bolu encircle the city to the west, northeast, and east, respectively. North to South is 20 kilometres away and East to West is 23 kilometres away (14 x 12 miles). With the valley of Buyuk Melen on the northwest, it opens to the Black Sea. A number of tourist hotspots and well-known sites, including Abant, Kartalkaya, Yedigoller, and Golcuk, are also nearby.

Although the summers and winters are both chilly and hot, the climate alternates between that of the West Black Sea and that of Central Anatolia. Tobacco, maize wheat, nuts, numerous varieties of wheat, and vegetables are the main agricultural products in Duzce.

6 Days Turkey Tour – Best Turkey Tour Package

For those who enjoy the outdoors and seek adventure, Duzce’s location is particularly appealing. There are extensive forested areas, plateaus, waterfalls, long seashores, beaches, natural caves, rafting on the Big Melen River, sailing, water sports, and fishing in the Lake of Hasanlar Dam, as well as the Karduz Plateau, which has 150 different species of birds and is always covered in snow.

Drone footage captured all the hues of nature in Düzce just before the conclusion of the autumn season. The colours of nature caught people’s attention as the fall months came to an end and the winter season right before it began, along with the sun that emerged.

A drone showed the vibrant images created by the trees in the forests in the mountains and springs of Düzce. Nature enthusiasts were drawn to the trees’ withering foliage as well as their array of vibrant green leaves.

With the arrival of spring, nature lovers’ camping season has begun in the green highlands of Düzce. Camping is a popular activity for nature enthusiasts who visit Gölyaka Culture Park, which has a different beauty in each season. In the spring, Düzce, often known as the “city of waterfalls and lakes,” is a favorite destination for nature enthusiasts. Düzce’s camping season has also begun, with its waterfalls, lakes, and plateaus attracting hundreds of nature enthusiasts each year.

6 Days Turkey Tour – Best Turkey Tour Package

Citizens seeking solitude and fresh air flock to the hills to enjoy nature. The Gölyaka Culture Park, which enchants with its scenic splendour, is also a popular hangout for locals. Camping in the 790 thousand square meter park is popular among nature enthusiasts who take advantage of the nice weather. Zeynep Yalçın, who camped in Gölyaka Culture Park with her friends, said:

“We came to the camp as students. 46 people camped in Gölyaka Culture Park. We didn’t have any problems in the evening as the campsite was fenced. This is an amazing place with natural beauty. In the evening we can watch the stars from under the trees. In the morning, you can wake up to the sounds of birds. There is Lake Efteni in the region where we are located. You can also visit here. In Gölyaka Culture Park, various activities such as parachute, golf, off-road can be done.”

When the Elmack Mountains’ flowing waters descend from the 120-meter-high rocks of Güzeldere Waterfall Bçk Düzü, they form a waterfall. The valley, covered by enormous beech and hornbeam trees, echoes the voices of the stony, watering rocks. Three different walkways and a stair system lead to the waterfall. Because the platforms are constantly damp, it is vital to pay attention to the warning signals.

The Star Mountains and the Samandere Waterfall, which attracts attention with its natural beauty in Duzce, have formed a lovely image with autumn hues. In Duzce, a lovely image of autumn colours in The Star Mountains was created, which drew attention due to its natural beauty.

The Samandere Waterfall is without a doubt one of Duzce’s most magnificent waterfalls. The valley’s sheer cliffs with their massive trees are breathtaking. The Samandere Waterfall, which cascades through the tall trees, creates white bubbles that appear to be boiling water in the Cadi Kazani, a deep rocky lake. The water flows year-round, sometimes disappearing inside the cave carved into the rocks behind the waterfall, and other times appearing on the surface and continuing to flow.

2 Days Ephesus Pamukkale Tour From Istanbul

Nature lovers are also drawn to the greenery on the hill on the way to Sinekli Plateau, which has adopted the shape of a heart due to its natural development.

The Star Mountains and the Samandere Waterfall, which draws interest with its natural magnificence in Duzce, have formed a lovely image with autumn hues. The Samandere Waterfall, located in the rich and virgin greenery town of Beyköy, falls through the 900-meter-high Yildiz Mountains, providing visitors with the opportunity to be entwined with nature among the riots of colour.

Hiking among the golden, brown, and red leaves is a lovely experience for visitors. Nature lovers are also drawn to the greenery on the hill on the way to Sinekli Plateau, which has adopted the shape of a heart due to its natural development. Locals and visitors from around the world photograph the “heart of nature” on the slope opposite.
