With a population of about 30 million people, the Marmara Region is Turkey’s most densely populated region. As a result, camping has become increasingly popular among Turks in recent years. In Marmara cities such as Istanbul, Bursa, Anakkale, Krklareli, and others, you will find a plethora of fantastic camping locations. In this blog post, we’ve created a list of the best camping places in the Marmara Region for you.

İnönü Plateau

The nönü Plateau is one of the best camping places within the Kocaeli province’s bounds. It is one of Kocaeli’s most well-known and popular camping spots. To get to the nönü Plateau, first go to Tepecik Village in the Başiskele district. Basiskele’s southernmost point is where you’ll find the campground. Although it is located within Kocaeli’s limits, it is also near to Sakarya’s Pamukova district. The highland route is not tough, and despite the fact that it is mostly made up of bends, you can get here in comfort because it is asphalt.

Paquete turístico de 7 días por Turquía: lo más destacado de Turquía

Maden Stream

Maden Stream, at an elevation of 317 metres, is a natural wonder in Sakarya’s Karasu district. Ponds, woodlands, and waterfalls surround Maden Creek. It is about 200 kilometres from Istanbul, 70 kilometres from Sakarya city centre, and 115 kilometres from Kocaeli. It was given this name in the past as a result of French mining activities. Behind the waterfall is a historical embankment built with cut stone in the region, which still shows the remains of the mining past.

Bozcaarmut Pond

Bozcaarmut Pond is a dam lake that has become a popular destination for nature enthusiasts in recent years. It is fairly virgin and unspoilt in terms of nature. You can come here to enjoy the beautiful scenery and find a variety of activities to keep you occupied. If you enjoy fishing, you can try your hand at it at the pond by bringing a fishing rod. In addition, the pond is surrounded by a diverse range of trees. In the shade, it is abundant. If you enjoy morning walks and jogs, this is the spot for you. You can get up early in the morning and enjoy some nature sports on the green trails that surround the pond.

Kapıdağ Camping

Kapda Camping, one of the best camping places, is 6 kilometres from Erdek district and 18 kilometres from Bandrma district. It is not found along the Sea of Marmara’s southern coast. Kapda, which is decked with thousands of flowers and shaded by diverse trees, manages to be a popular camping location, especially in the spring season, with the return of nature. If you enjoy walking, you will enjoy the natural hiking routes, which offer both short and extensive nature treks.

Uçmakdere Camping Area

The Uçmakdere Camping Area, one of the popular camping places, is located in Tekirda’s arköy district. It’s ideal for individuals who want to swim as well as have fun in the water. It is feasible to eat and use the restroom because it is close to the beach shops. You can camp if you pay a reasonable entrance fee. Because room is limited, you should not bring a large group. You may fall asleep to the sound of the Marmara Sea in the spring months since it is peaceful, and you can enjoy it at daybreak.

Summer is possibly the most claustrophobic time to be living in Istanbul for those of us who grew up outside the city. The good news is that just a few hours outside of the city, you may visit places that have been unspoiled by urban growth. You’ll need a car to go to most of these places. If you’re hiring a car, I recommend getting one with more ground clearance to help you manage the bumpy mountain roads. It’s best to visit these places during daytime hours the first time to prevent striking any bad potholes or making a false turn. Let’s have a look at the best camping places in Istanbul.

Sahilköy, Şile, Istanbul

Starting out at a campsite with amenities if you’re new to tent camping is a good approach to gain a feel for the pastime. Sahil Kamp Istanbul, located on Istanbul’s northern Black Sea coast, is an excellent spot to begin. The campsite is accessible via bus (line 139S) from Üsküdar, which departs three times a day and stops at Sahilköy – one of the Istanbul camping sites, or by driving and parking your car at the campsite parking lot. You can hire a tent or a hut if you don’t have your own. You’ll want to take a plunge in the Black Sea or relax on the beach after setting up camp and strung your hammock between the pine trees.

Sultanpınar Plateau, Bolu

On the Bolu-Sakarya border, Sultanpnar Yaylas is arguably my favourite plateau in the region. A rural settlement can be found on this plateau. On our first journey to Sultanpnar – one of the best camping places in Istanbul, we had some car difficulty, and approximately a half-dozen villagers gave us tea and assistance, with one even asking us to stay the night at his house. We were the only campers there that weekend, and we set up our tents across the pond from the settlement. Because there are no authorized camping places, you are free to pitch your tent wherever you like. Please be aware that there are no restrooms available.

5 Days Turkey Tour – Istanbul Antalya Tour

Sülüklügöl, Bolu

Sülüklügöl Campsite in Bolu region is the place to go if you want to delve deep into the woods. After paying a small entrance charge, you can pitch your tent next to Leach Lake, which is tucked between lush, densely forested hills. The symphony of frogs will most likely be the first sound you hear. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many frogs in one location as I did at Sülüklügöl – one of the best camping places in Istanbul. There are 406 plant species in the area, with 38 of them being indigenous.

Soğucak Plateau, Sakarya

The Soucak Yaylas (or plateau, in English) is ideal for families with children. This vast, green plateau is located atop a peak in Sakarya province’s Samanl mountain range. Though Google maps may indicate two roads, pick the one that travels through Ilmiye; the other is a logger’s road that is not suitable for passenger vehicles. You can pitch a tent wherever, but after you emerge from the trees, I recommend driving across the plateau, as there are several outhouses along the forest line on that side.
